Hamline Launches Innovative MBA Program

Unique, modular-based program will empower students to become locally-based, globally-focused leaders and critical thinkers

Hamline University Graduate School of Management is pleased to announce it is accepting applications for its new master of business administration (MBA) program. The new modular-based program will enroll its first students to begin January 2008.

“The Hamline MBA is built to enable students to become visionary leaders, to go and explore beyond the managerial routine,” said Dr. Julian Schuster, dean of the Hamline University Graduate School of Management. “Students will graduate from our program with focused, relevant, practical knowledge that will distinguish them from their peers in the workplace.”

The Hamline MBA is designed to enhance the knowledge and competencies needed to guide organizations through growth, development, and change. The program will develop proactive leaders with global understanding who can apply integrated solutions within continually changing organizations and markets. Students will regularly encounter the following themes as aspects of their planning, analysis, decision making and problem solving: Communication, ethics, global awareness, change, conflict management, technology, and critical analysis.

“Hamline University has a 154-year tradition of excellence in liberal education, basing its programs on the principle of empowering students to become critical thinkers, innovators, and ethical decision makers,” said Dr. Linda N. Hanson, president of Hamline University. "Offering a fully integrated master’s of business administration degree brings to the Twin Cities the best practice for business leaders—who will be equipped to move seamlessly among public, private, and not-for-profit sectors throughout their careers."

The Hamline MBA is a 21-month cohort program, offered one night each week. Classes will be taught on both the Minneapolis and Saint Paul campuses of Hamline University.

“I am entirely focused on the success of the students,” explained Dr. Bob Kramarczuk, Hamline MBA program director. “I have spent my career building MBA programs—eight of them in all, each one better than the last. This is the final one for me. It is by far the best program I have ever helped put together. It’s innovative, globally focused, and technologically advanced. The Hamline MBA will prepare students to lead in today’s dynamic and constantly changing environment.”
