Brandon Gleason featured in KARE11 News Extra

Brandon Gleason
Hamline distance runner Brandon Gleason (Jr., Mantorville, Minn.) was featured Thursday night in a KARE11 News Extra in which reporter Scott Seroka documented Gleason's return to competition, and his run to nationals, following a career-threatening injury just thirteen months ago.

Gleason now competes with a steel rod that runs the length of his right tibia following an accident on a training run in February, 2007, in which an SUV ran over both of his legs.

Following a year off, Gleason returned to competition for the 2008 indoor season. Gleason won the MIAC championship in the 3,000 meter run and qualified for nationals in the 5,000 meter run.
