Fulton, Long earn All-American honors
![]() The first team All-American squad, released on Saturday in Lake Placid, N.Y. prior to the Division III championships, consists of twelve players – six each from the east and west regions. Fulton and Long were the only MIAC players to be named first team in the west. A forward, Fulton was first on the team in overall scoring with 50 points (21 goals, 29 assists) in 27 games. During the regular season, he led the MIAC in points scoring (2.00 points per MIAC game) and goal scoring (0.88 goals per MIAC game). He was also third in the conference in assists (1.12 assists per MIAC game). Defenseman Long was tied for second on the team in scoring with 31 points (19 goals, 22 assists). In MIAC play in the regular season, he led the conference in power play goals with 0.50 per MIAC game. He also finished the regular season tied for second in the MIAC in goal scoring (0.81 per MIAC game) and was the second-highest scoring defensemen in the league with 1.25 points per MIAC game. The Pipers, who won the MIAC championship for the first time in 60 years, finished the year with an overall record of 16-7-4 and an MIAC record of 11-3-2 while being ranked 15th in the nation in the final USCHO.com Division III men’s hockey poll.
