One good thing about the otherwise mostly-useless World Wide Web is that it gives me a forum for expressing my views without anyone else exerting editorial supervision. This means that I get to say just what I think, and inflict it on anyone who stumbles across it.
Of course, if you believe that what you read on any web page, including this one, is completely authentic and honest and uncensored, then you haven't considered the extent to which we all censor ourselves quite effectively. The very idea of "saying exactly what one thinks" undermines itself.
Much of my ranting is directed against views that I myself support (and I suspect this is true for many people). Remember this as you read these.
