If you have forgotten your Hamline password (gives you access to several resources on campus, including Novell, Groupwise, Netmail, library proxy server, dorm network, wireless network), you can reset it through Piperline.
Before you begin, you need to know your Hamline ID number and your Piperline PIN. This information is different than your Hamline username. Your Hamline ID number is usually a 7 digit number, beginning with a 9. It is usually on your Hamline ID card. If you don't know your Piperline PIN, you can have that reset by contacting the appropriate office. If you are a student, you should contact the Registrar's office, and if you are a staff member, you should contact Human Resources.
Once you have your Hamline ID number and Piperline PIN, you can go to http://www.hamline.edu/piperline.html
Click on Login to Secure Area.
Type in your Hamline ID number and PIN, and click the Login button.
If this is the first time that you have used Piperline, you may be asked to set up a security question. This process helps you if you later forget your Piperline PIN, you can set it later through an automatic process, rather than having to contact HR or the Registrar's office.
Click on Personal Information.
Click on View Hamline Computer Accounts.
Click on Hamline User Account.
Your Hamline username and initial password will be displayed. Please note that this was your initial password - the one that was originally set up when your account was first created. If you have never changed your password, you can probably try logging in with the password listed. Otherwise, you can click on the button "Change password" to reset your password.
If you reset your password using this method, it may take up to an hour for the change to process. If the password hasn't changed within an hour, you should contact the helpdesk at x2220.
