Please note: With the amount of emails that are transferred through the system, including SPAM and distribution list messages, ITS recommends that you do not set up an autoreply message.
If you are leaving on vacation, and would like to set up an automatic reply to notify people who email you that you are out for a period of time, you can set up and automatic reply. Please note that if you are on a distribution list, do NOT set up this function, as it will reply to the list, and create an email loop that can crash both our system, and the system running the list.
Go to "Tools".
Go to "Rules".
Click on "New" or "Create".
Give it a name. (e.g., Vacation)
Click on the "Add Action" button.
Select "Reply".
Select "Reply to sender".
You will see a box to type in your vacation message - type in your message.
Click on "OK" then click on "Save".
You will now be returned to the Rules box. Make sure there is a checkmark in the box next to the rule you just created, and click "Close". At any time, you can temporarily disable this rule by going to Tools->Rules, and unchecking the box next to the rule you wish to disable. Next time you need to use this rule, you can simply check the box again.
