The Announcements area is the place where instructors post timely information critical to course success. This includes information such as reminders about when assignments are due, changes in the syllabus, corrections/clarifications of materials, and exam schedules. A Welcome to the course web site can be also posted in the Announcements area.
NOTE: Announcements may also be posted by the Blackboard system administrator detailing general announcements such as downtimes and assistance available.
There are two methods for accessing announcements:
From the My Institution page: Either click on the button from the Tools box, or view announcements for a specific course by selecting the appropriate hyperlink within the My Announcements section. (By default, announcements will be listed for the last 7 days. This sort can be changed to list all announcements, or limit to specific courses by selecting the appropriate option.)
From the Course Announcement Area: Click on the Announcements button from the left hand navigation panel (Course Menu). (By default, Announcements for all courses will be listed for the last 7 days. This sort can be changed to list all announcements.) Figure 6 shows the Announcements page.
The View Announcement Options Tabs help you sort and locate announcements:
View today- Click on this tab to view only the announcements added today.
View last 30 days- Click on this tab to view only announcements added during the last 30 days.
View last 7 days- Click on this tab to view only announcements added during the last 7 days.
View All- Click on this tab to view all announcements in the course.
