Exploration of Religious Vocation: Internship Positions

Internship positions within the Exploration of Religious Vocation Program of the Theological Exploration of Vocation Program (TEVP) are designed to enable students to explore future careers in churches, synagogues, and other faith-based or community service organizations.


Internship Positions


These internshops involve experiential learning and mentoring, and include opportunities for reflection, discernment and encouragement. Other learning experiences may include visits to seminaries, rabbinical schools, and similar settings. Positions are available for the Summer, Fall, and/or Spring semesters.

Requirements

Student interns are expected to work 10 hours a week and will be placed in a local internship site.  They will attend montly reflection group meetings with RSLO staff, maintain a journal, and submit monthly written reports.

Stipend

The stipend positions pay $1,500 a year or $750 per semester and will be paid at mid semester and at the end of the semester.  You may be asked to keep a time card, but will not be paid by the hour.

Internship Sites

Student internship sites include but are not limited to local church, congregational, and synagogue settings as well as community service agencies.  LEAD option is also possible. Interested students should begin to identify potential internshop sites as soon as possible. Assistance is available from the Religious and Spiritual Life Office.

Reporting Relationship

Positions report to RSLO, Administrative Assistant, or Associate Chaplain.
