ASD CERTIFICATE PROGRAM NEWS

Kari Dunn Buron, academic coordinator of Hamline's ASD Certificate Program, has been selected to participate in a grant project with the National Professional Development Center in Autism Spectrum Disorders.

The NPDC-Autism is a multi-university program including professionals from the University of Wisconsin - Waisman Center, University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, and University of California - Davis at the MIND Institute. The mission of these collaborators is to provide resources, professional development, and technical assistance that promote the use of evidence-based practices (EBP) in partner states. Minnesota is one of 3 states that were awarded this 2-year grant to improve the use of evidence based practices for students with autism spectrum disorders. Kari's role at Hamline will include reviewing current ASD coursework to be sure they adequately address the use of Evidence Based Practices.
