Making the World a Better Place Award

Marc St. Martin

Marc St. Martin graduated from Hamline in 1992.  His professional career has included work in social services in the U.S., earning him a Governor’s Award in 1993. He also worked for the Peace Corps in Albania, for the United States Agency for International Development in the Balkans for six years and several assignments with non-governmental aid organizations around the world from Central America to Cambodia.  In 2002, he earned an international MBA degree from the University of St. Thomas.  Marc has been working in Afghanistan for the past 3-½ years and is Country Representative of a British organization working to better the lives of Afghan refugees.  In that capacity, he oversees a country program of 230 staff in six provinces of the country.  Marc’s future plans include departing Afghanistan by year’s end in search of less stressful, but equally rewarding work in another developing country.  Marc is committed to working toward peace and understanding in these tumultuous times.
