Get to know Caitlin....

I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and attended Kalamazoo College, a small private liberal arts college that shares lots of qualities with Hamline.  I majored in English and have put my degree to work writing and editing in the higher education and nonprofit development worlds.

I enjoy plays and performances at the many theaters in the Twin Cities, and I’m involved with the Fringe Festival, the a huge non-juried theater and arts celebration in August.  I’m active in causes that matter to me, and I volunteer whenever I have the time.  I read The New Yorker cover to cover, but I’m also hopelessly hooked on celebrity tabloids.

Fun Facts

What is your motto/favorite quote?
“The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.”  --Dorothy Parker

What other job would you most like to have?
I’m a freelance writer when I have the time, and it’s always interesting to me—I’m lucky to do what I love.  I'm working toward my Master's in Fine Arts in Hamline's Graduate School of Liberal Studies, so I'm always writing something!

Rushmore, Mermaids, The House of Yes, anything by Alfred Hitchcock

Last great books I have read:
The Dew Breaker by Edwidge Danticat; Birds of America by Lorrie Moore; Drown by Junot Diaz
