2008-2009 Hamline Dialogues Series Complex World, Complex Issues: Operating in a Global Context
- Pollution needs no passports.
- Disease stops at no border crossing in an increasingly interdependent, complex, changing global environment.
- Nonprofit organizations and local governements serve increasingly diverse populations, and nonprofits are growing players in international cises and development efforts.
- Businesses compete in a global marketplace that operates under varying standards for labor and production.
These and other changes bring with them the need to navigate increasingly complex issues in a global setting. Leaders across all sectors are called to function in a multicultural environment and their actions often have global implications.
This year's Hamline Dialogues Series will examine various examples of leadership and problem solving across sectors in our increasingly complex global community.
The Hamline Dialogues Speaker Series was established to provide a forum for conversation between distinguished guest speakers, students, faculty, alumni, and the broader community on topics that touch our lives.
